Why I want to meet Daniel Spils
Because you’re from San Fran! I just moved here a few months ago and I really like it. I’d love to get a 43 meet up for everyone from san francisco!

I’ve bumped into Matt at many shows over the years—and he’s done me the favor of a few interview questions here and there (made me feel important). But the reason Matt rules is because he’s hardcore Alaskan. That is, he’s for real. He’s Spenard + Denali with some Kenai dust sprinkled on top.
1990s RKCNDY Bootsy Collins cancelled my buddies and I too festive to go home Ballard Firehouse Super Sonic Soul Pimps we got even more festive dancing rockin’ out decided on spot to start music zine starting with 3SP interview approached keyboard player with interview request which he graciously accepted hit him with timeless question “Who’s who and what’s what?” he fled from my drunken journalism attempt ending music zine on the spot ellipsis new paragraph
Years later first 4th of July after 9/11 Tucson, Arizona Maktub had familiar keyboard player email hey, it’s you fellow Alaskan cool guy Maktub returned months later interviewed Reggie for NadaMucho.com talked with Daniel enjoyed conversation so much I moved back to Seattle three years later just to bump into him every so often true story period end of paragraph
It appears that everyone else has, and I feel left out, dammit.
Daniel’s a super friendly and helpful Robot. He gets a lot of flack when the site has… issues, but he always answers emails courteously, promptly, and with surprising humanity considering he’s man made and doesn’t have any kind of a soul. What’s more, he makes a great effort to walk the walk, and remains an active part of the 43 community even though technically he’s our lord and master and we are but serfs bowing in his metally presence.
Wish we had more time to chat at the 43T meetup, SWAZ. I particularly enjoyed our little chat walking away from Ti Couz—I couldn’t agree more about the tone set by lots of online communities. Hope you stick around 43T for a while longer.
Now my question. SWAZ is swell, but what does SWAZ mean?
He’s a Treonaut (or a Treo hugger) but I suspect he may soon be an iPhone phan.
Great to meet you on Saturday, Apteryx. Question: what does apteryx mean? Or more importantly, what is it’s significance?
Thanks for organizing the 43T Bay Area Meetup ! The crepes were delicious (mushroom sauce … nice) and the conversation was most excellent. This being my first 43T meet-up, I imagined that it could have been more awkward—but that was the amazing part. The conversation barely skipped a beat as we all had a bit of backstory on one another.
Hope to see you again offline, Bookish.
Saturday at Ti Couz in San Fran’s Mission District. Evesdropping a bit across the table I gleaned golden bits about Catattack. She’s a gem.
My Adar radar gave me strong signals prior to the 43T meetup, but meeting Adar in person confirmed that she’s a smart, contemplative, spiritual person. I thoroughly enjoyed talking for over 2 hours with Adar across the table from me. I look forward to meeting again.
